IAUA

April 1990 was a very critical time in my life. It was a time of great despair and hopeful promise. To quote Charles Dickens, "It was the best of times it was the worst of times". I had worked at four different jobs in the last year. I was in a new job, in a new state, in a new region of the country, living in a temporary apartment, alone. But, I had this compelling feeling that I was being led by God and that I was where I was supposed to be at the time that I was supposed to be there and I knew that He was with me. In this time of great inner turmoil, I woke up at 3 AM one morning with the words of a poem going through my head. The music followed soon after. I got up and wrote the words down so I wouldn't forget it. Over the next day or two more lines of the poem composed themselves and it became this song.

On 2004-05-25 I began using the Sacred Holy Name IAUA. On 2005-08-19 I restored the original use of the name of Jesus for those who are uncomfortable with using the name of God.

My life with IAUA,
(There's something about Jesus,)
It is hard to explain.
E'en though I cannot see him,
He still feels all my pain.
One day we'll meet in heaven,
And I'll sit at his feet,
My pain will all be over,
For life will be complete.

My friend is IAUA,
(There is no friend like Jesus,)
none truer can be found.
He's there whene'er I need him.
He never lets me down.
E'en though the way's not easy,
He'll always be my guide.
For He will never leave me.
He's always by my side.

Your friend is IAUA,
(You need a friend like Jesus,)
He'll be a friend to you.
If you'll only let him in,
He'll always be with you.
Though at times I have failed him,
and stepped out of his will.
He always has forgiven,
and walks beside me still.

I have included the sheet music for your use. Enjoy.
